Opus Virtuoso ‘Sonar’

A concert classical guitar with a curly Redwood / Alpine Spruce double top, Redwood Burl (Vavona) back and sides, a Florentine cutaway and an offset soundhole.

The story

Sonar, Opus Virtuoso No. 763, pairs a highly figured old-growth curly Redwood / Alpine Spruce double top with Redwood Burl (Vavona) back and sides, including contrasting sapwood. The Florentine cutaway and offset soundhole give the instrument its distinctive outline.

The Signature Amber treatment combines an open headstock with amber HeadLight, an amber rosette and amber outlets for the Acoustic Tubes in the neck. An elevated African ebony fingerboard, ArcFrets and an ebony floating armrest complete the playing surface.

The construction brings together Acoustic Tubes, S-Wave and Sigmoidal Joint. The modified magnolia neck follows the Turkowiak profile, with a 650 mm scale and 52 mm nut width.

Matching 2 mm mammoth bone side position markers were added at frets 3 and 17. They complement the existing dots at frets 5 and 9 and the mammoth bone rings with amber centres at frets 7 and 12.
