Modern Nylon — 40 Anniversary

The nylon-string guitar in the Modern anniversary pair, created for forty years of our family workshop. RomanticWood over spruce, Amboyna Burl with sapwood, amber artwork and ArcFret give No. 792 its own identity.

The story

Two instruments. Forty years of family guitar making.

From 1986 to 2026, our family lutherie workshop has developed its own approach to guitar making. Modern Steel No. 791 and Modern Nylon No. 792 mark this anniversary as a pair of individual instruments, each with its own materials and musical identity.

Modern Nylon No. 792 combines a RomanticWood outer soundboard layer with a hidden spruce inner layer. Amboyna Burl forms the back and sides, including the wood’s contrasting sapwood. Modified Magnolia forms the neck and Flamed African Ebony the fingerboard.

Amber artwork travels along the fingerboard towards the headstock. The figured back carries a decorative rear rosette, while an adjustable amber cover controls the side soundhole. ArcFret follows the flamed ebony fingerboard.
