The story

Two instruments. Forty years of family guitar making.

In 2026, our family lutherie workshop celebrates forty years of guitar making, from 1986 to 2026. Two exceptional Modern guitars were created for this occasion: Steel No. 791 and Nylon No. 792. Each has its own materials, construction and musical identity.

Modern Steel No. 791 combines an Ancient Cypress outer soundboard with a hidden old-growth Redwood inner layer. Golden Madrone gives the back and sides their flowing figure, while modified Magnolia and Flamed African Ebony form the neck and fingerboard.

Natural Baltic amber continues across the rosette, fingerboard artwork and HeadLight headstock. The translucent Amber BackLight Rosette gives the back its own focal point. Mammoth details, ArcFret and ebony comfort bevels complete this individual anniversary instrument.

Construction developed in our workshop

• S-WAVE Resonator — A lightweight body construction with a double-top soundboard and no traditional internal connecting linings.
• X-ARS — Back-and-sides construction with a chemical-ceramic matrix, combining high stiffness with low damping.
• Acoustic Tubes — Air channels in the reinforced neck contribute to the instrument's resonance and tonal character.
• Sigmoidal Joint — An S-shaped joint between the sides spreads loads over a larger surface and reduces the mass of the reinforcement.
• Hollowed Bridge — A hollowed bridge with reduced mass and pinless string attachment.
• ArcFret — Turkowiak's proprietary system of curved frets compensates intonation across the fingerboard.
• Compression Bracing — Arched wooden braces with carbon-fibre ties maintain the back's curvature and increase its stiffness.
