Arched wooden braces with carbon-fibre ties maintain the back's curvature and increase its stiffness. Compression Bracing is a construction for the back of the guitar, not the soundboard.
Compression Bracing is available only on selected models. It is not part of our standard specification; its inclusion is confirmed individually for each instrument.
Each tie is secured at the ends of its wooden arch, leaving the span between those anchor points clear of the middle of the brace. The wooden arch and carbon-fibre tie work together to stabilise the curved structure.
The wooden braces are formed to their intended curve from the outset.
What does the carbon-fibre tie do?
It connects the ends of the wooden arch to help maintain its curvature and increase stiffness. Between the end anchors, the tie remains clear of the middle of the brace.
Does this brace the soundboard?
No. Compression Bracing describes the back construction. The soundboard has its own structure and is considered separately.
Where has it been used?
Compression Bracing is specified for the anniversary Modern acoustic guitar No. 791. It is available only on selected models, not as a standard feature. Its inclusion is confirmed in the individual instrument specification.
What does it tell me about the sound?
This describes a structural choice for the back, not a measured claim about volume, sustain or dynamics. The response depends on the complete instrument.
