Inside the design
Beyond the edge of the soundhole.
A curved wooden collar extends inside the soundhole. It lengthens the effective acoustic neck of the opening and increases the mass of air moving there. In a simple cavity model, this lowers the air-resonance frequency.
A real guitar is more complex: that air resonance interacts with the vibrating top and back. We choose the collar's depth and shape with the whole body to develop the bass response and tonal balance, not simply to decorate the soundhole.
The visible rosette and the internal tornavoz become one sculpted element. Its acoustic role is part of the character of Virtuoso Tornavosette.

A conventional rosette decorates the soundhole. Here, the collar also extends into the body as an acoustic element. It is distinct from an illuminated rosette on the back.
Where does Tornavosette fit?
Virtuoso Tornavosette is the Opus expression centred on this soundhole construction. The material and decorative treatment are confirmed for each instrument.
Will a tornavoz make any guitar louder?
Not automatically. Changing the opening changes the balance and coupling of the air and body resonances. Its effect on bass, projection and decay depends on the instrument, which is why we voice the collar and soundbox together.
