What makes this direction different?
Choose an equal scale for all seven strings, an extended seventh string or a multiscale layout. The extra string's tuning is agreed before its length, spacing and setup.
Extended bass
No. 129 keeps a 650 mm main scale and extends the seventh string to 729.6 mm.
Fan frets
No. 648 is a separate 630-650 mm fan-fret example. This is not the same geometry as the extended-string headstock.

Should I choose more strings or a longer scale?
That depends on the intended tuning and the register you want to add. A string count alone does not establish the pitch, tension or response. We review those choices together.
Are fan frets and ArcFret the same?
No. Fan frets describe different scale lengths across the strings. ArcFret describes curved fret geometry developed for intonation. Compatibility with a new multi-string design requires individual assessment.
