Inside the design

Less mass at the heart of the top.

Developed for steel-string guitars, our hollowed bridge removes substantial material from a solid bridge profile while retaining a stiff load-bearing structure. Its openwork geometry reduces the mass the soundboard has to move, without treating stiffness as expendable.

Bridge mass and stiffness shape the mechanical coupling between strings and soundboard. We balance both with the top to support a responsive resonant system, rather than simply making the bridge as light as possible.

The pinless attachment anchors the ball ends at the bridge itself. There are no bridge-pin holes through the soundboard and no removable pins to pull out, lose or refit when changing strings.

What do the openings do?

The openings remove material from the bridge while its remaining structure carries the load. They are not additional soundholes through the top.

Why choose pinless?

It keeps the string attachment above the soundboard and makes restringing straightforward: release tension, remove the old string and seat the new ball end in the bridge. No pin puller is needed. Follow the stringing instructions for your particular bridge and check each ball end is seated before tuning.
