Where the string meets the soundboard.
The winged bridge was developed for nylon-string guitars. Its extended, slender wings maintain structural support while reducing the mass of the bridge.
This is part of balancing the transfer of vibration from the strings to the saddle and top. Bridge geometry is considered alongside the soundboard, rather than as an isolated addition.
Why the wings?
Their shape provides stiffness without relying on a heavier central block. The design works with the loading and response of the soundboard.
Are decorative details included?
The bridge construction and its decorative inlays are separate choices. Materials, artwork and any additions are confirmed in the written specification.
The photographed instrument has its own specification. Decorative inlays and individual artwork are optional and quoted separately.
