The playing brief

What makes this direction different?

Travel brings our folding-neck and compact nylon options together. For the smallest packed length, start with the folding-neck design: one hand-tightened screw secures the neck at the heel. A compact fixed-neck MINI is the alternative when you prefer a smaller body without a folding joint.

01

Folding neck first

A folding neck is available for a nylon-string Travel commission. Secure the neck by turning the single knob at the heel by hand; undo it to fold the neck. No Allen keys, spanners or series of separate fasteners.

02

Compact, with a fixed neck

MINI classical Nos. 221 and 162 show the fixed-neck alternative, both with a 630 mm scale. Their smaller bodies belong in the same Travel family; they are not folding-neck examples.

03

Your playing and packing dimensions

A small packed instrument need not have a short playing scale. Neck width, scale, body dimensions and the protective case are agreed together around your playing and transport requirements.

Before you choose

A few useful answers.

Can I order Travel Nylon with a folding neck?

Yes. Folding-neck construction is an available option for a nylon-string Travel guitar and is included in the individual specification. A compact fixed-neck instrument remains an alternative.

Do I need tools to secure the folding neck?

No. The folding joint uses one hand-tightened screw operated by a knob at the heel. Turn it by hand to secure the neck, or undo it to fold the neck. There is no set of separate bolts to assemble.

Is the folded guitar in the opening photograph nylon-strung?

No. It is steel-string Travel No. 468, shown to illustrate the folding mechanism. The completed nylon examples below are fixed-neck MINI guitars Nos. 221 and 162.

Will it fit every airline cabin allowance?

No universal airline fit is promised. The completed instrument and case dimensions must be checked against the carrier's current rules.
