What makes this direction different?
Body size, tuning and the feel of the neck come before decorative details. The archive includes concert and tenor instruments, an eight-string tenor and a tenor hybrid with a small classical-style body.
Four strings or paired courses
The eight-string tenor No. 350 shows another arrangement. Courses, spacing and bridge geometry are agreed together, not added to an existing four-string setup.

Wood, neck profile, soundhole placement and amber details can be discussed at this scale. The photographs below belong to completed instruments with their own specifications.

A few useful answers.
Is every ukulele nylon-strung?
No. The workshop archive also includes an eight-steel-string travel ukulele, No. 281. String material and tuning must be specified explicitly.
Can a ukulele have a guitar-like body?
Yes. The archive includes tenor hybrid forms, such as No. 374. We discuss the playing position and proportions before setting the final dimensions.
